Looking at an '05 Ultra Classic. Some nice upgrades for the money (Big Bore kit, SE slip ons, chrome wheels).
The bike is advertised as a "Shriner Edition". Does anyone know what HD did in '05 to call this bike a Shriner Edition?
It's Vivid Black and looks pretty much like any other '05 UC I've seen. Maybe it's just the chrome wheels?
My dad was a Shriner....His crowd rode wheelie popping sand buggies in all the parades...Then they switched to honda mini bikes and clown costumes.....Some of them ride Harleys in parades.....Lots of them fall over.
I had a 03 firefighter special edition road king. The vin number designated it as a shriners edition. I assume its assigned to any of the special edition bikes, like police, firefighter, shriner ect. I'm not a firefighter I bought it cause I liked it and never got flack for riding it. If you like it, buy it and enjoy riding it.
I gota ask is there a seal guy Barbie.... Seriously, who gives a Sh===t if you want it and the price is good make it your own....The only one you have to please is you.....
Is there a Seal Guy Barbie?......No, but there is Demi Moore-she got a boob job and shaved her head then played the role of a Marine.....But the Marines recovered.
Some of the Shriner Editions have the Shriner emblem on the engine cases and other places, some don't. I wouldn't worry about it. I am a Mason and it wouldn't make anyone mad, you just might get asked a lot what Lodge you belong to..LOL...No big deal if the price is right go for it..
Yes, believe it or not... my wife's name is actually Barb. I kid you not.
I'm just interested in kowing what (if anything) HD did in '05 to make this a Shriner Edition.
I couldn't care lessfor catching any "flack". If a Shriner wants to sell his bike outside of his Shriner friends, that's his choice.
My brother-in-law is looking at this bike, and as far as I know, his money is as green as any Master Mason's.
Harley gives discounted Special Edition bikes to Police, Firefighters, and Shriners.
The only difference on the bike is the insignia and in some cases the color.
He paid less brand new... if he's willing to pass on the savings... go for it.
I remember my uncle's Shriner's bike. It was the first HD I ever rode. It was brand new andI was so little I sat on the gastank. It was lime green and made a lasting impression on me. It was in 1955!It was loaded up with lights and siren and all ofthe doodaa's HD had (but no electric starter).
