ive put A LOT of miles on various HD's the last 4 years while at work (and personal). i will say this: i was never left stranded on any of them. the only 'major' problem i encountered was on my 2000 RK police. one of the cam bearings went and i was able to make it back to HQ with just some whining.... other than that, some small issues crept up- but that was mostly due to the use (abuse) we put them through on a daily basis.
hell,i was ALWAYS against HD. i only rode metrics (sportbikes at first) with the HD reliability being my fear.
since i rode at work, i was sold on the quality, handling prowess and comfort of HD. so much so, i bought an 06 Road King.
