I park at the END parking spot at work, so i got a piece of aluminum diamond deck from somewhere (I think Lowes sells them)
i put it in the striped zone...so no one will have to drive/park over it.
and I ground all the edges off, and the corners down, drilled four holes in it, and counter sunk them, and made me a permanent parking pad for work
i was amazed how much the screws bit in to the asphalt

That's all nice. But unless you own the lot, don't be surprised if it dissapears. As whoever cleans and manages the lot may not want a piece of aluminum screwed down to the spot. Or if it comes up for recoating.
When wiring up your new bars for internal wiring...
1. Use weed wacker line for a fish thru the bars..
2. Pick up a bottle of wire lube... I use it for running wires in conduit... stuff works... like KY for wiring...
Little different approach to the "garage door opener" mod for people with road kings. Instead of using the hi-beams I relayed it off of the 12v power outlet on my bike wired to the left aux switch.

I soldered two wires on either side of the button on the remotes circuit board, ran them to a momentary switch. Mounted the remote inside the fairing with tie wraps and installed switch on fairing. No need for a power source other then the 9v battery in the opener. Works like a charm.

I like it, and seeing that remote has a 9v battery you should only have to change it every couple of years or so.
