Anyone had experience with Danny Gray seats for Road Glides? I have an '08 Road Glide. I am looking to get lower on my bike. The speed cradle is suppose to lower the rider 1.5"- 2". The "Big seat" model may be an option for me as well. Also thinking of going with either the lower rear HD shock, or the "Legend air shock".
Is Gray offering seats for the new '08 already???? I went with a Corbin Dual Tour and it sets me back about 1 3/4" and down 1 1/2"..
Lowering I went with PROGRESSIVE Lowering Ft Springs - And with Progressive 440 11 1/2 HD in the rear - Now looking at the Air Ride system for the rear as I still bottom out a bit 2-up Loaded on larger dips....
Yea, Danny Grey will take your order on an '08 seat for your Glide. This is the number to call (888) 443-2669.
What brand of Air shocks are you thinking of going with and how do they perform?
Ive got a SG and went with the Big Seat from Danny gray, very pleased with it, perfect width and offers great support for your lower back, Also does lower a little ' im 6'1" 240 AND FITS ME THE BEST, did 10K miles this year with busted up lower back and wasnt uncomfortable at all....well worth the money. Ebays' got them pretty cheap
Drag had a warehouse opening in Reno recently I attended, and my "neighbour" was Danny Gray. Nice Guy! He told me they were "tooling up" for the 08's at that time--they may be done now. While the show was quiet, he explained the stuff that he feels sets him apart. I always appreciate a craftsman! Im feeeling like my 08 will have one of his seats. Im sure if you call, he (they) will make sure you get the right seat for you
We use Danny Gray seats on every custom we do. Great seats, great quality, great comfort, great guy!
If you just want lower profile shocks go with a quality coil over shock like progressive or works performance. If you want to posture and drop your bike when you park Legend makes a quality product, Progressive has a good air ride setup also. We've used the auto leveling system from Alloy Art too.
Seat and suspension like anything else, you get what you pay for.

Joe-
Which Danny Gray seats do you use for 2up and solo?
I ordered a danny grey for my 08 SG from shooter64 unfortunately the 08 seats are still being made. was told sometime in December that they should be complete.
I was looking to lower the ride height of my bike after my accident. I needed to to lower it an inch and a half to two inches. I bought the C&C solo seat for my Road Glide and it was perfect!
