Stains on silver engine

I have some stains on a 05 CVO moter and wonder
if anybody else has found them on theirs.
What can be done to remove them.Don,t know what
caused them.

HD makes a touch-up spray paint that i've used that matches perfect and stays put

Spray some brake cleaner on a rag and gently wipe off stains from motor, it has worked for me.

I second the suggestion for brake cleaner.

For burnt on oil type stains start with Liptyne/mineral spirits (paint thinner) on a rag. A little less harsh than brake cleaner.

I use Simple green max on the front of the motor where it gets the dirtiest....and dish soap every third or forth washing...I have 45000kms(27000 miles)on my silver motor and it looks like new.

WD-40is a good solvent type cleaner that won't harm painted items.

PN 98606BY is the harley part number for the touch up spray cans. The silver motors from the factory are painted and not natural like the older motors were.
