Default Fairing Windshield Bags

Who has one of those three pouches across fairing bag? How do you like it? Which one is the best for the money? I'm talking about the one that goes behind the windshield.

Wally,

I have the leather 3 pouch bag. Not sure who made it but it has the one slightly bigger (wider) pouch in the center. I have found it extremely useful. The center pouch is perfect for the sunglasses, I use one of the side pouches for my garage door opener (can't see spending the bucks on the auto) and the other for anything I need quick assess to while riding. I have seen others with taller pouches than these, but I prefer the lower profile. It has scuffed the inside of the shield some, but I can't see any way really to avoid it. I wouldn't want to do without it. Hope this helps.

I have the single center mounted leather bag. It's one big pocket instead of the three little pouches and it fits my wallet. The three pouch unit does not fit a wallet very well. It's the single harley bag that is $69 dollars. Good luck.

I also have the single one and like it because it is less obstructing of frontal vision in my opinion.

Not to sound like a complete idiot, but how does it attach to the fairing? Is it velcroe, or double sided tape or sumthin?

Wally...

I just added the 3 pocket pouch to my bike (which now has a fairing) and here is what I ran into:

There are 2 different 3 pocket pouches on the Harley site - one designed for use with a fairing 58900-98B (click HERE) and the other designed for use with a standard windshield 58904-03 (click HERE).

I ordered the one designed for a fairing but what I ended up getting was the style pouches from the second type but on a bracket designed for a fairing. It had "Harely Davidson" embossed in the leather as opposed to the advertised "Bar & Shield" and it uses the velcro fasteners as opposed to the twist latches.

As long as that doesn't bother you the fit and installation was great.

Hey Bagger.....

The pouches are attached to a metal bracket that has 3 "hooks" on the backside. Those hooks wrap around the top lip of the inside fairing. To install it you need back out the bolts that hold the windshield in place. Once there are backed out you can slide the pouch / bracket into place between the windshield and the inner fairing. Once you tighten up the bolts it can't go anywhere. Protective strips and rubber bumbers come with the pouch to protect the windshield and the top of the inner fairing from getting scratched by the bracket. However, as stated above, the pouches themselves will scuff the inside of the windshield.

I have the 3 pouch unit on my Ultra. I use it everyday for sunglasses and change for the toll boths. Works great. Does schuff the inside of the windshield about 1/4 inch on bothe sides. They do vibrate a lto when your at an idle. They don't make noise they just move a lot.

I have the three pouch unit same as Brian. I love them. Perfect for my garage door opener, sunglasses, cell phone, ear plugs,, etc...- I wanted the velcro cause I find it easier to get the pouches open and knew I would bust those little twisty things. To avoid the bouncing what I did was to go get the little sticky bumpers you put on kitchen cabinet doors that keep them from banging when closing. Harley only gives you 4 little rubber bumpers but I found that you need at least 8 and they must positoned correctly - The install is easy but you should make sure the unit is as rock steady as possible before you button the fairing back up. Yes it still rattles around a bit from time to time but it's very sturdy.
