Ive got a ride planned for late January or early February from NC down to the Florida Keys. We will be making the trip down in two days and the whole trip will be about a week or so. I havent ever riden that far in one trip and I know the Street Glide is up to it but what about the girl? Any suggestions on getting me ready to go? Ive done 200 miles easy in one day but this ones gonna be longer. Its been a dream of mine to just jump on the bike and go so nows the time!

Just do the best that you can. You will probably surprise yourself. I'd bet that you can do 500 in a day with out too much discomfort. Hope the weather is on your side and have fun!
Mariner is right, you will end up surprising yourself at how long you can ride if you really want to. On the SG a 400 to 500 mile day will not be a problem.

I'm in NC also, in Garner. What I did was do a couple of 350-400 mile rides while stretching every 100 miles or so. Take about 600mg motrin evry 4 - 5 hrs and stay hydrated. dehydration sets in quicker than you think and will tire you plus cloud your judgement a bit. If you make small mistakes and start to get sloppy when you are stopping at lights etc, then take a break.
