I'm with Sodiee, until there is a true way to integrate the ipod into the hk stereo (which I doubt will ever come). What I mean by true integration is an actaul ipod cable, song names being shown in the HK display, and lastly, hand controls control the iPod. AUX cable and a draining iPod just doesn't do it for me.
Till then, or till I swap out the HK unit for something else, I'm in general going to be sticking with .mp3 cds.
I have gone through 2 ipods on my Ultra. I wish I could post a picture of my mount but for some reason I always get a message that my picture file is too big, but that is another post. The mount has a rubber cushion, but there is still minimalvibration. My first I-pod went blank and does not work anymore. It was the original series 10 gig with a hard drive. My second I-pod is a 30gig with hard drive. While on a trip to Montana the screen went blank. My 1700 songs were no longer on the I-pod. I could not get them to reboot either when I got home. I suspect the vibration from the bike shook something up in the hard drive or its related. Has anyone else had such a problem with I-pods on the bike?
The problem is the hard drive. I killed three hard drive ipods just by jogging with them. The third one died after the warranty expired so I bought a nano with flash memory and haven't had a problem in over three years. It's worth changing to flash for the bike, even if it means you have to change your playlist now and then.
My friend did that on his nano's NAMVET, he has two nanos hooked up to the same itunes account so it should work. Here's a pic of a friends setup, clean looking and he can work it easy going down the road

Anyone know if you have an ipod and get another one, can you download your
music from your itunes account to the second ipod?
Is the number of computers that is limited not IPods. You can authorize up to 5 computers to use an Itunes acct. Each computer can load tunes onto an unlimited number of ipods.
I locked up a hard drive iPod on a V4 Honda ST1300! Smoothest bike I've ever owned. Go with a Nano and you won't have any problems. I also use a Monster ezclick? RF remote control to operate the iPod on the bike. It lets me FF, pause, vol up & down, and skip forward and backwards. I plug everything in under my seat and don't have to worry about getting caught in the rain and drowning my Nano.
