I keep my 160GB iPod in a bag in my tour pak. I use a remote called the iJet to control it. On my old bike I just clipped the ipod to my jacket or vest.
Try an Ipod Nano, they use solid state memory instead of a hard drive.
This is what I use on My SG. I do not have it fixed mounted but in the leather windshield pouch. Got a good cable from radioshack with brass connectors on both ends. Never had a problem other than having to datke it out of the pocket to change playlists.
iPods are nice but I would rather use a MP3 disc.I holds over 100 songs per disc and it shouldn't break.
Good solution provided that HK CD actually plays works. I am on my 3rd one (under warranty) in one year. Keeping in my mind I have attempted to use the CD player only a total of 3 times, each time the cd never playing or ejecting. I gave up on it 8 months or so ago only using the ipod.
My dealer noticed it jammed during my 20,000 service. I had just forgotten about it.
