Have a store near me that sells just about every crimper, tool, or connector you could ever need. Some prices are good, some are questionable but they always seem to have what I need. Their website is www.cablesandconnectors.com. Hope that helps.
Which packard and amp connectors will you be doing? Do they have the seal that is part of the crimp? If so, then it makes life much easier with the triple crimp tools that crimp the wire, insulation support, and seal all at the same time. These run > $200
If you are doing standard old crimps for the conductor, and the insulation (support) then I can offer some very usable alternatives. Molex makes a pair that roll the wings perfect and make a great looking, secure crimp. #304928 $45 I use these for deutsch, bosch, amp, and some of the packard connectors if I have less than 100 cable assemblies. http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/sto...oductId=304928
If you have a small job, say under 20 connectors, get a $10 soldering iron, some small heat shrink tubing from radio shack or walmart and get after it.
