Also had good luck with leatherup.com. Oustanding prices and excellent service. Had to swap out a vented leather jacket, no problems (DAMM GOOD JACKET). The same jacket is all over the net at 2 or 3 times the price. Try to buy AMERICAN when I can but when it's similar quality at a fifth of the cost, I'll buy a Paki.

Have gone to kevlar chaps with leather patches on the inside of the calf for around the pipe and padded in the knee/shin area. Made in the USA by Colorado Chaps. Sadly, I went to China for the Harley Switchback jacket that's padded to European standards (supposedly more stringent than ours). Makes for great riding gear in all types of weather - hot or cold.

Bought some cheapie leathers this spring when I first started riding again. The $39.00 chaps barely made it through the summer. The $79.00 jacket looks real nice and is well made with a removeable liner, but it's too thin to save my skin should I ever hit the tarvy.

www.eagleleather.com in Tacoma Wa. mostly Top Quality, first rate stuff. I got all my riding gear there and recomend them to anyone. You may first think they are over priced, but you are not getting any of that made in Taiwan crap that most of those other on-line leather stores sell. This is all U.S.A.made goods.

Wow, lots of good info from people who know. I will be checking out the vendors recommended, looking at pants as well. Thanks all

Oh by the way cirhere2, you are a pesky little weasel. Is it beyond you to contribute something worthwhile in your posts. I have only seen a few posts from you and they have mostly been hogwash. But hey, if it turns you on go right ahead.

Just another vote for Fox Creek leather. Nicest leather I've ever looked at. Seen a few here and there, and their hardware is top notch also.

I also bought their lined chaps this past September. Won't be wearing unlined chaps again.

Give them a call. They are easy to work with.

THAT SAID....

There is another company you may want to look at, if you carry concealed on the bike. (No intention of getting into it either way, but concealing the piece can be problematic. I wear one of these vests beneath the jacket in cold weather. You can take the jacket off if you go indoors and have no issues - the vest is designed not to print the piece. Hot weather just wear the vest alone.)

Check out Coronado leather. I use the bison leather vest:

I still say HD has the best quality leathers in that of the FXRG line which is their premium stuff. Lined chaps to protect you from cold and rain, and thick enough to protect your legs in the event of going down. Their jackets are flat out awesome, with a liner to protect from rain, skid pads to protect from going down, and a removeable inside jacket for days that are cool.

I have them and have seen many other leathers, but nothing that compares quality wise. Go to any dealer to try them on, and then buy them from Zanottis, Chicago, or Latus Harley davidson online. You can sometimes find them on eBay for a great deal as well.
