I am looking at upgrading my FLHT and adding the Streamliner footboards that come stock on FLHX's and Road King Classics. Can anyone tell me if I can simply swap out the rubber mounted pads or do I need to change out the entire metal pan to accomadate the rubber pads?
The pans that the rubber inserts fit into are different--a friendwith a RK Customwas switching his Streamliner floorboards to the Flame style that use the standard pans and I gave him my take-off standards for the swap and the inserts for his birthday--the rest of the story is that his bike was totalled before the installation was made; fortunately he's okay.
you'll need to do a total swap...i wanted the same streamliners, love the look but with the total swap required i'll have to save up a few more harley bucks first! Hoping the HD gift certificates i get for Christmas will help.
Thanks for all the responses!!!! I almost bought a set of unused take-offs on ebay thinking they would be a direct fit onto my 05' FLHTPI. Now I am glad I waited to get a response from you guy!!!! Thanks again.
I have a rk custom (not the rk classic) and I love the streamliner boards. Even with all the other options, this is one of the only things I will keep stock. They look really clean to me. I bought an extra set of pegs for the highway pegs, but wish I had gotten the passenger boards, and just moved those pegs, but it is done, and I am leaving it that way. Got that little shifter peg, too. If ya can swing it, I would recommend them, they seem to work great, and (IMO) look awesome.
BTW, I love those police bikes. If I had the cash, I would buy one as a second bike, and just go nuts with it. If you ever want to trade those police bags for a set of rk custom bags, just send me a pm.
I was reading the forum and it's funny, I just replaced my 08 Street GlideStreamliners to the stock ones from a Road Glide. They give me more room to put my foot than the Streamliners do. You will not have to change the brackets, only the pan and inserts. Hope this helps.

You're looking at about $400 to get the rider pans and inserts, passenger pans and inserts and the matching brake pedal. I wanted to do the same on my RKC, but $400 is too steep.
I saw a set on ebay this week. And I thought I saw some in the classifieds on this forum, but I could be wrong on that.On ebay go under "motorcycle parts" on ebay Motorsand just search "FLHX." If they're not there anymore, just wait a while. I'm always seeing the Streamliner boards and the pegs for sale. I love them too. Had them on my RKC and on my SG. Don't know why anyone would want to change them out. To each his own!
