My recommendation is to get a SERT and true duals for the SG it's worth every penny. I rode my bike for 1K miles before I did any mods. Now I appreciate the power even more.

I am ready to buy a 2006 Street Glide. Would you all please give me some pointers as to what extras I need to purchase before leaving the showroom like pipes etc. Want to make sure I get the pipes and Stage 1 Kit with the right maps.

Thanks

Arlie

I turned 1,000 miles on my new SG. I just went with the SERT and a dyno and I have V & H duals with Oval Slip ons. Nice mellow sound and the bike performs well. Agree with previous comments that the Download is a waste of money for the 2006's since the EPA has messed with them.

I too have a 06 SG, before it left the harley stealer I had 95, Rhinehart, air filter, down load , what a quick bike , going in for my 1000k mile service next wed for a race tuner and dyno, really wanted to get 1000k miles on it before the dyno , the exhaust well its awsum , I also have an 03 annv. fatboy with short bassani pipes , carb rejeted, air filter, this SG without the race tuner is allot quicker. Looking forward to the performance everyone talks about with the race tunner. already have sunk in another 2500.00 in chrome, black front forks, looking for some spoked wheels powder coated black to match. first if you do any mods replace the stock windshield with the larger on that is made for all the other touring bikes, I'm 5 10 and the wind was hitting me right above the glasses about 70mph, after the larger glass installed works like a dream, it's only 2 1/2 inches taller so still looks bad and folks don't notice the difference, as far as the pipes, Rhineharts are the way quiet at idle and good Harley sound when you get on it and people that have rode with me say its a great sound bike, power increase not sure since they where on at purchase, people say they don't have much low end torque , hell it's got allot . you want a faster bike off the line buy one but loving my black SG
