Thanks for the input guys. The reason I like the street glide over the eg is that it has a much cleaner appearance. I like the plain fenders, mirrors in the fairing, and filler panels between the bags and rear fender. I dont like lowered bikes because I live in the mountains and a lot of my riding is in the twisties. But it sounds like a pair of 13 inch shocks should help with that issue.
I live and ride in the mountains on the twisties and its not an issue. If you want to drag a knee on the corners stick to a sport bike.

Ride one, you'll like it and you'll never notice the missing inch.

I didn't think I would like it lowered either but its never been an issue. All you need to do is experiment with the shock air pressure to get the ride you want. I found a couple of pounds made a huge difference.

Street Glide is only ower in the rear, and the shocks can be changed for a real reesonable price.

If you ride a lot in the twisties you will notice a difference between the Street glide and the Electra Glide. I have the EG and the wife has a SG. The SG will drag a little sooner than the DG will.

You can strip the EGC to about SG for a lot less money that you can add all the stuff to the SG. Fairing mirrors are easy, taking the bumpers off of the fenders is easy, you can get fillers for the space between the fender and bags, and you can remove the passing lamps. You will still have pinstriping, and a lighted front fender, but you can get close.

The reason the wife got the SG instead of the Electra Glide was because she wanted a chopped tour pack, so we didn't want to buy a bike with the King Tour Pack on and just have to take it off.

I already scrape floorboards on the ultra. Why would I lower it?
