08. I've had mine since July. I did not feel the heat was excessive (no worse than my 06). The venting on the batwing and lowers is very good. The ABS brakes are outstanding. No lag in the throttle. No transmission clatter. No issues at all with the bike.
one thing i complaint about 08...it is the throttle lag on ride by wire system.....the 08 throttledelay made me nervous, other than that...08 is better....for $2000, i will buy 08...
I have noticed no throttle lag or delay what so ever. What I have noticed is that the spring tention is a little weaker on the cableless system.
I'd wait until next July and get a '10. You'll save alot of money always waiting for the newest intro..of course you'll miss many years of riding but think of the savings$$$$$$$$$. LOL
First year of the drive by wire and brembo brakes. I like the cables myself, less electronics to deal with. We all know just how adept the dealers are with electrical problems.
Both bikes are pretty much the same with the exception of the brakes and DBW, except the IDS which can be added to the 07.
The 08 brakes need a dealer to bleed system as opposed to the 07 brakes that will stop just as well IMO. More electronics and valving not to mention the control unit for the ABS.
The 07 will be much more price negotaible than the 08 will in most dealers all things being equal.
Different color options in different years depending on what you prefer.
08 had a better seat but that shouldn't be a decicing factor as it can be changed.
1% interest on the 08 starting in January if you finance certain models.

I agree with all .............. but would add the ABS (I understand) will prevent (rear) wheel lockup in a crisis ........... having been there ......... it is a knee jerk reaction to lock the rear wheel ..... in fact, I think most people would bend the rear brake lever trying to get more (when they're getting less) braking power. Really good points mentioned IMO though.
What ever Floats You Boat.... But it's ALWAYS MORE BETTER GOODER TO BUY THE CURRENT YEAR 2008
I'd like to agree with ya SOCAL but sometimes I think the MoCo does their R&D on machines that have been sold to their customers (hee hee).......... there are some horror stories out there ........
The 09's will be out in late July early August. Your "new" 07 will be almost 2 yrs old.... Check NADA for value. Go with the 08. No problems with mine at all. Love it. No vibration, brake issues, heat problems, ect. Just twist and go!
I have never figured this IDS stuff out. I have an 07 SG and an 08UC and I swear I can;t tell the difference in the back, or middle. The front end, that's a different story. Maybe I just got lucky but it there was on a difference I would be able to tell. I would go withthe 07 and I have an 08. You will get about 35 miles less mileage on a tank and as far as cable throttle, what's the problem. Again, my wireless on the 08 is fine but not difference between that and my 07. I am a very particular jugde of, feel, sound, vibrations, wobble, cornering, acceleration, decel, etc. and not having IDS,not a problem. Some people just want thatextra gallon and theABS. It's nicebut NOT worth 2K IMO. I would spend that $$ on other upgrades or accessories.Plus, it will depend on when you buy so you may want to wait a bit and buy an 08.
