Compare apples to apples, is the price difference for the 07 to 08 on a similar 08 bike without ABS? If so, keep negotiating on the 07and see if you can get the IDS thrown in and maybe a little extra like an extended warranty or a parts gift card. Only difference in the 08's is the IDS and TBW, unless you are buying an 08 with the ABS. Same engine, tranny and everything else. If you are thinking of trading every couple of years, then the model "year" is a consideration for trade in or resale value, but after a couple of years, what you save from the 07 to 08 will equal out. One other thing to consider is that the ABS is new to HD and therefore may have issues, or may not. But it is very sensitive to wheel an tire changes so if planning modifications consider that also.
Good luck with your decision, either way, you will like 'em!
one thing i complaint about 08...it is the throttle lag on ride by wire system.....the 08 throttledelay made me nervous, other than that...08 is better....for $2000, i will buy 08...
No throttle lag here on my 08' RKC. She runs fantastically. Very responsive. But then again, I have the SERT programming tuned for my setup. I could not say how the factory programming is. Every new bike at my local dealership has SERT tuning and StageI intakeon them before they hit the floor.
What ever Floats You Boat.... But it's ALWAYS MORE BETTER GOODER TO BUY THE CURRENT YEAR 2008
I'd like to agree with ya SOCAL but sometimes I think the MoCo does their R&D on machines that have been sold to their customers (hee hee).......... there are some horror stories out there ........
I agree here, I think we test their machines and all the new improvements they come along with.
