Hello all, I have a question? I have an 07 ultra and last night I bought all the light trim rings. Well, when I installed the headlight ring, I noticed the headlight is or appears like it is aimed to one side. Was not a problem until I installed the trim ring. One side is flush against the headlight and the ither has a gap. This is also causing the ring seam not to lign up perfectly.
Any ideas would be appreciated. I was thing about adjusting the headlight to where it is straight and then re aiming it. Not sure if that would do it or not.
Not sure what you did to install the trim ring but you should have loosened the phillips screw at the bottom of the stock headlamp ring just a wee bit and then the other trim ring snaps in the groove of the stock ring and then you install thebolt/nut at the bottom of the new ring and tighten. Nothing that you loosen or tighten on the rings should affect the way your headlamp points.
I had the same issue when I installed mine. Prior to installing I noted that there is a gap on one side caused by the alignment of the headlamp. As noted above, loosen the bottom screw so you can get it to seat properly but the gap is already there and will continue to be depending on the way your headlamp lines up.
