Ambient Temp gauges

I have 2 bikes, an 07SG and an 08UC. The 08 temp gauge seems accurate but the SG always seems about 10 or 20 degress hotter. It was 50 degrees yesterday riding and my gauge said it was 70. Do these things just suck, some of them. I wonder if the dealer would replace it without giving me a bunch of excuses. I think they should be recalled or I wonder what else would be cool to put in it' place.

Expect excuses, the gauges have read 10 to 15 degrees on my last two bikes and no fix from the dealer.

Yep, they just suck..... Most people replace them with Oil Temp guage....

My 02' Ultra Classic ambient temp gauge was a joke.The ambient temp gauge on my 06' Goldwing is spot on. Don't have a ambient temp gauge on my 01' RKC but that's just for riding on the nice days anyway.
