true track
He said it costs about 350 to $400.

The touring bikes handle great until the frame fatigues and fails.
I am unsure if true track would actually protect the problem from occuring.
In a nutshell, you want feel a wobble. It throws the bike out of control until you hit pavement. Harley has been sued countless times over it.
It is designed to prevent lateral movement of the engine/trans/swingarm in the FLH rubber mounting system.
While the FLH chassis, especially on the latest models, is reasonably well-behaved, certain road conditions can set up a wobble under aggressive cornering.
Does it work?
I am presently testing one on my personal FLHTCI.
So far, I believe it does what the manufacturer claims it will do.
That is, to restrain the rubber mounted powertrain from twisting under hard cornering loads, which otherwise would place the rear wheel out of line with the front.
Having said that, if your bike has other chassis issues (poor tires, worn steering components, wheel misalignment, etc.), the True-Track is unlikely to remedy those problems.
As I accumulate more miles on my bike with the True-Track installed, I will post further comments on it's efficacy.
Thanks for your information. I am looking for as much information about this as possible. I have not heard of any problems with the Street Glide, but I can't imagine the problem just went away unless HD did same design changes. I told my local HD dealer about it. They to are interested in the product if it does whats advertised. I am trying to get a copy of the installation instructions to take to the HD dealer. I am willing to put one on my bike, to try it our. $395.00 is a lot of money to spend for such a controversal item. More important to me is the opinion of the users like you and others on this forum. I am also interested because our department has 05 RK Police bikes. If this is a real problem then I will let our motor pool mechanics know about this so this problem can be addressed, Thanks.
Just to elaborate on the thread....
The issue of potential chassis unstability concerns all rubber-mounted FL/T/H models. The Street Glide (FLHX) belongs to that group, and has the the same chassis design as the rest of the family. The FLHX does have a slightly lower ride height than the Electra Glides, but I don't know what effect that has on chassis stability.
So, should you or other riders of these bikes be concerned about this problem?
I know many FLH owners who tell me they have never experienced unstability with their bikes.
You might say they ride conservatively; well within the design limits of their machines.
Those of us who ride more aggressively, can surely describe the point where their bikes may begin to wobble.
Back to the True-Track....
If you take a very close look at another H-D product, the Sportster, you will notice it's rubber-mounted powertrain is similar, yet quite different than the FLH.
Essentially, it is set up much like an FLH with a True-Track. Food for thought, eh?
That is interesting, my wife has an 05 883L Sportster. I'll have to take a look at it. Thanks. Sounds like I may be ordering a True-Track. Either way I guess it can't hurt.
