Streetglide Windshield Height
If you haven't ordered yet.....
I am 5'9" or 5'10", have a Road Glide seat on my EG so it sits just slightly lower than the stock EG seat, running a 6" dark smoked FastAire shield. I also have the air deflector between the forks and the wing deflectors. I can see over the shield just fine and the wind hits me in the chin. The buffeting is very light and never annoying. I have actually considered the 8" shield but I want the dark smoked tint and I think it may be a problem at night, so I will stick with the 6".
Hope this helps.

I'm 6'1" have a sundowner touring seat (un-modified) and currently use a 8" clearview recurve. Like many SG owners you will probably end up with several shields. I have a 6" HD, 12" memphis shades, and will probably add a 9.5" clearview recurve to complete the collection. They all have good uses. Some look better than others. I agree with many that above 8" you lose the chopped look.

Hate to agree with an old geezer but.... what he said about Jim and Fastaire. I am 6 ft and the windshield is 9 inch. Extremely happy with the product and the service.

I got mine from www.fastaire.com . It's an 8" and I'm 5' 10" or 11" depending on the day. Later I got my seat lowered and I cut off 1 1/8" from the bottom and its perfect. Jim at Fastaire is great with an excellent product and price. Check it out.

Recently ordered, received, and installed the 8" Dark Sunglass Grey. I'm 5' 11" and the 8" puts the windflow just over my head. I'm using a Mustang solo seat, so that dropped me down about another inch as well.
I feel like an expert on this, because I have made so many mistakes already.
I have the Sun Downer seat and I'm 5' 10" tall.
I've had the following: Stock shield, which was to short. Moved to the HD 6.5, which was still to short. Switched to HD 9.5, oh this ones to tall & still has slight buffeting. Switched to the Clear View 8" recurve. Like how I can see over it, but dam buffeting is back[:@]
Now have 9.5 Clear View recurve. Its just slightly taller than I would prefer, but buffeting is thing of past.
I did notice that when I wear my FF helmet which is taller than my brain bucket, I had more problems with buffeting. So how tall your helmet is also is a factor.
