MY 07 "IDS" RG HAS 1988 HERITAGE BARS ON IT.. (AN OLD SET I HAD IN THE GARAGE) THEY ARE PERFECT 4 ME.. I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH A SLIGHT WOBBLE ON SWEEPING HGWY EXIT RAMPS ..IVE GOTTEN USED TO IT OVER ALL THE YEARS RIDING HARLEYS ... (EVER TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THE FRAME TUBES?) I THOUGHT IT WAS DUE TO THE FACT MINE HAS (TRUE) NEW STYLE SPOKES ON IT BUT APPARENTLY NOT. I BOUGHT A SET OF HD 9 SPOKE MAG WHEELS AND THEYLL GO ON IN THE SPRING.. BUT OVERALL NICE SCOOTER. MUCH BETTER BIKE THAN MY 03 ULTRA... NOW IF ONLY THE STOCK CAN MOVE BACK UP !

Picking up my 08 Road Glide today. This forum has been very helpful in my decision. Will add my impressions today but with temps in the 30's it is going to be a very short ride.

Hey Ted,

Nice bike and good write up. I remember reading a post on here about different bars on the RG. I think they were recommending Wide Glide bars. Anyway, here is one. Do a search and you may find more. https://www.hdforums.com/m_2100048/tm.htm.

Good Luck and enjoy the ride.

CHUBBYÂŽ R.G. BARS
PART # WO517

"Sensational 1 1/4" thick customs for the Road Glide.
Designed for maximum comfort and control.
They are 31.0" wide, with a 14.5" pullback and 8.5" end rise.
They work with the stock Controls, Grips, Cables, Brake Line & Wiring."

http://www.wild1inc.com/handlebars.html

I buried the wiring in the bars during installation for a clean look.

These bars are made for the Road Glide and are narrower and higher than stock.

I am now able to do 18- foot circles and u-turns with confidence and a solid grip on the bars.

I just finished a 2,500 mile ride and the height of the bars was excellent.
My arms were relaxed and I had no back or neck discomfort at all.

More confidence and control in slow manuvers and relaxed arm positioning for long rides.

They look good! Excellent chrome! A quality product!

I am the same height as you. TheWO517's should fit you like glove!

If your rear end is jumping when you hit bumps try letting a little air out of the shocks. I have figured out that having the right psi in the rear shocks makes a world of difference. just my opinion

Congrats on the new ride. I've been toying with the idea of moving to a RG with ABS. I test rode one at AC HD on the White Horse pike in Absecon. Loved it!
The folks at Trenton HD are nice people. I work in that area and have been in their dealership more than once.
Good luck and ride safe.
