Default Just ordered a HQ 95"

Well I just ordered and fixin to ship my heads and jugs. I order the Sport Tour 95" (which will be plenty) with 575-Gs.

So i have a question, with all the people on here that have done the HQ thing, someone else has to running a PCIII like me so does anybody have a map to start with? I am going to start with the PCIII since I already have it like Kevin suggusted

It'll be V&H TD headers and wild-pig slip-ons for the time being since that is what I have and want to see what I have before changing from what I like...anybody not running a 2-to-1?

Didn't Kevin say he'd send you a map to start with? I talked with him about a 95" kit and he said he'd send me a map for my SERT.

I just sent my heads and cylinders packing to Head-Quarters. Went with the same package you did and I also have a PCIII. I have Hooker tuned flow slip ons and other than the stage 1 download from the MOCO, thats the only mods. If you dig around on the US HQ website, you can find a timing map for the PCIII. When I spoke with Kevin, he said that should get it close but if you still have troubles, try getting the stage 2 download from the MOCO as the PCIII can only modify the map in the ECM so far either way. I don't have a map but I'm going to send Dynojet an email to see if they have anything close as I haven't seen anything on their site specifically for HQ mods. Lemme know if you run into a map for the HQ build with non 2 into 1 pipes. My exhaust is stock save for the slip on hookers. Just FYI, I used two boxes, one for the heads and one for the cylinders and used Fed-Ex. Even with insurance of about 2grand total the shipping was only about 40 bucks.

Congrats to both of you! You're gonna **** the first time you ride them!

I can probably rustle up a PCIII MAP for "a" 95" ST build, but in all honesty... they are all unique. What I will have access to will be one with a FatCat, but it will be worth a try & concievably better than nothing.

The reason he's able to provide decent SERT MAP's is that once that part is close, you can add a ProTuner and it will handle theAFR fine tuning.

It has been my experience (at least with the TX heat) thata Stage II flash was necessaryso thatthe PCIII could pull enough timing out to make it "right".

If the two of ya'll willPM me an email address,I will locate and send you a MAP you can try.

Phil, that's amazing to me as my tuner first before I came and later a counter guy confirming after I came in that I have the Stage II flash removed by HD as it can create issues for Dyno tuning the PCIII.

To answer all the above - Kevin has MAPS for SERTs but only a timing table for PCIII. Was hoping someone might have something close to start with to see where it is and let the weather get hotter before dynoing cause he also said to wait and see if it needed to be Stage 2 flashed - kinda the why spend money until you know you need to.

But if I was gonna have to flash with the PCIII- maybe I should get a SERT and a MAP from Kevin and sell my PCIII on ebay...opinions? would it still need the Stage 2 flash with the SERT?

I'll send you an email Phil

Not sure I totally understand what you are saying. If you are talking about the avg dealership staff that is accustomed to tuning the avg S/E motor, then it makes sense that I don't understand.

The reason for the Stage II flash on increased compression builds w/ PCIII's is that the flash retards the timing. In a stock ECM, there is WAY too much advance and it will be all but impossible to "properly" tune out detination. "Some" will attempt to MASK it by dumping a bunch of fuel in, but that is not getting the most out of it. If it has too much timing, it needs to be removed and there is a limit to how much can be removed via a PCIII.

What a good book to read about doing the change like 95" or 110 change over? Stage 2 or stage3. The different heads, What good in cams, push rods & rockers. And should trans work get work done first?

shearpinn: I'd buy the SERT and use a map from Kevin; no reflash necessary with the SERT. Understand that the timing tables from Kevin will be conservative and you can tweak them with a laptop; something Kevin will help you do.

And congrats to both you guys; you're gonna have a lot of motor between your legs so ride at all times with a rider backrest.

order a new back tire --- your going to need it---I had the the stage two flash done on my HQs 103---I don't have a map because I don't know chit about doing motor work --- I wish I did I could have gotten a bigger motor with the labor $$$ --- you will not be disappointed with a HQs motor
