Default Headset cord

Has anyone found a longer headset cord for the factory intercom? My god, because of it's coil, it wears my neck out.It needs to be about 8 inches longer.I find it's a relief just to unplug it. Anyone else? any suggestions?

At first I felt the same way, then a bud told me before
you hook upto ride, stretch the hell out of it like a phone cord.
Your right it's a tight coil. Wish I had a straight line cord that
would suit me fine. Don't know if anyone makes a different
cord option. Sure would be better.

We stretch and wrap ours around the helmets between rides. That seems work pretty well.

Yes there is a company out there that maks a longer cord that just plugs into the factory outlet and is not coiled. I purchased one and rerouted it under the tank bib, under the seat and into the slot where my back rest attaches. Now all I have to do is use my stock wire and run it behind me and plug it into the extension wire. I am at work now and foget the name of the company. If you are still interested e-mail me and I will look it up, or I will post as soon as I get the chance. edge2edge@comcast.net

I hung mine from a shelf in the garage for a few days when I was not out riding.
Sounds like a trailer trash idea, but i kinda streched out the cords buy tying them to a shelf up above the work bench, then closed a drawer on the bottom end. gained about a permanant 6 inches...

I made one using a couple connectors and a straight wire. it works prettty good. Alot less bulky than the coiled cord, I can feed it down thru my jacket and have it come out in the waist. No cord blowin' in the wind.

Condor, Sorry took so long to get back to you. I had to dig up the receipt. The name of the company is Ooltewah Manufacturing Inc. out of Ooltewah, TN. Phone number is (423) 238-5388. Item number is 03-04-84 listed as 910-harley 7 Pin Ext. -6 Foot. Costs was $25.00. It plugs into the stock femaleoutlet located ontop ofthe gas tank of the ultra, and give you 6 feet of cord. Reroute the line under your seat, tank bib, ect. worked great for me. Hope this helps!!!
