Well I new it wouldnt take long forpeer preasure to get to me, reading Philm and Daltons post made me get off the fence, (also the offer to do the labor for free by my good freind and engine builder helped) anyway we gotthe bottom end out and sent to darkhorse yesterday. My build will beAxtell cylinders,Darkhorse bottom end w/ timken conversion ,HQ 575 cams, T-mann heads (tweaked byWFO Larry) D&D Fat Cat,Stock TB match honed w/ SE injectors, Roller rockers, Thunder max w/auto tune, Vpc clutch. Good luck with your build. 117 is a great choice for a bagger.

notlost_nc I'm not sure the brand but I think its some kind of tappered push rod that we use???

Phil I was wondering if you ever decided on a TB for your build.( That is the only thing I wonder about on my build, and maybe the fatcat)

I am about 90% sure I;m gonna go with an HPI 55mm / 10% possibility of the HPI 51mm. I talked with HPI & HQ about it and mine is just on the periphery of the 51... more like a 53mm would be ideal. Both conculded that the motor is gonna have a ton of torque regardless, so I'm thinking of just going with the 55.

I have been running a FatCat (on many bikes) since they came out in 2002 and LOVE them. On this build (again, on the periphery), I am going with a BoarZilla.

The 575 cam in your build is gonna make great cylinder pressure so you should have big torque available very early too. I am not 100% certain if the FatCat w/BigBoar baffle or the Zilla would be better in your scenario. If you already have a FC, then try it. If you're buying one.... I'd do a little more research. Maybe talk to TMan & D&D.

I am running Jims Ultra-lite pushrods.

I have a question for you... what are ya gonna do for injectors?

I am thinking 4.89's should be OK, but I am not totally sure. HPI said I should use the 6gm/sec units.

Post lots of pics, and the build sheet (and prices are always welcome).

Good luck with the build.

Are you using rocker support plates, TP rocker boxes, or equivalents?

Hey Dave,
I knew we would finally get to you

I am actually running SE pushrods, but you have to watch them as they are rather large in diameter and they can actually hit the sides of the tubes if the rocker box is not perfectly centered, a couple of thousandths off and you have clatter. If you are buying adjustable pushrods, there are a number of good ones out there, the Jim's that Phil is using are good.

I am using the 4.89gm/sec SE injectors on the 120, thinking those will should be fine for your build.

Dont go to large on the TB, you can gain hp that way, but will also lose a little tq, but the 117 with the 575s should be a torque monster so really from the seat of the pants you might not even notice depending on the TB selected.

The 120's that have been built are running 48mm, 50 mm, 55mm (Phil?), and a carb so we have not been able to compare apples to apples yet. Kevins 113, just finishedis running a 50mm also.

You going with the AIM 92T VPC?

Good luck, hope it turns out well!

Hey all Thanks for all the support, I'll try to reply to question the best I can my freind (he work on HD is his spare time at his home)is the brains behind this build, I just ask alot of questions and pay for parts, but I'm learning alot about my ride and I've found out that its not brain surgery and even was able to help another freind change out cams in his twin cam the other day.

Phil; I have the 4.89 SE injectors and plan on using those but I also have acess to a set of V-rod injectors if we want to try them.I already have the fatcat w/ standard baffelso I"m goingto try it first.I didnt know they made abig bore baffel?

Harleypingman; Ill see what I can do about pictures it took me forever to figure out how to get my avatar and sig on here but I see what I can do.

Dalton Yes I already have the Aim 92T VPC, it worked great on my 95" build we will see if its strong enough for the 117"

Glideman; Beach bend park is only 2 1/2 hour drive from my house and they have all Harley drags there every year. They have a street bike class were you pay a fee and they let you run. I've always wentand watched but I may make a run this year just to see what kind of number Icould do
