"Don't forget the O2 eliminators."
Hey mvinc01 - I am currently waiting on a PCIII from Jamie also that I had him download the map for me. The question I have for you, or anyone else that could help, is does the PCIII actually disable the O2 sensors, or does it work with the input it receives from them. To me this seems like a common sense question, but right now I don't have much of that. I probably should have waited until it arrived, but this post peaked my interest about them. Thanks.

a pair of o2 eliminators are shipped with the package from fuelmoto. you'll disconnect your o2 sensors, and plug in an eliminator in each sensor's wiring harness that goes back to the ECM. my guess is its some kind of loopback device but that's just a guess. the instructions say you can totally remove your o2 sensors, but I chose not to do that.

This is what I meant by not having much common sense today. I'm thinking about the sensors that would go from the PCIII to the pipes, not even thinking about the wiring harness that goes back to the ECM. Or am I still brain dead today.

Basically, the stock O2 sensors have a connection about 10" back from them that connects them to the main harness running back to the ECM. This enables them to send input for stockfuel managementand AF adjustments. The sensors themselves are on the back side of each header pipe, with wires running out of them. I am told they are 7/8", if you decide to remove them.

The PCIII O2 eliminators get plugged onto the ends of the connections running back to the ECM from the sensors. The sensors can be left in place or removed entirely. It makes no difference because they are now no longer used for ECM input. There is a Napa part # on the "PCIII No Brainer" thread to plug the bungs. The O2 eliminators are like said, a loop back connection cap. I suppose this helps the ECM think it's still in closed loop narrow band state and not togenerate error codes.

The eliminators go on, then just tuck your wireing back into its original place and zip tie up. I left my sensors in, but you can do either with the Napa part.

Hello all,
This is my first post and as I just Installed the PCIII on my 08 Ultra last night, I thought I would chime in.

If you ordered it from Jamie and told him what your set-up is, he more than likely pre loaded the correct map for you. Its easy to tell because if he did, there will be a white sticker on the front of the package that says "pre loaded to your specs" and will have jamies initilas on it.

I am going to let you know right now, if you are installing this on an 08 with ABS, grab yourself a six pack and a qualude before you start because it is very frustrating. You are going to have to modify the ECM tray and bottom of the plastic wire harness that comes out from under the tank console. This is one tight A** fit but it can be done. Just take your time and dont get in a hurry.

Jamie preloaded mine and after install I didint have to make any adjustments at all. All throttle positions were right on the money.
It has been raining here all week so I have not had a chance to get out and really test this thing out, but it is supposed to be nice this weekend, so I will update on what the performance difference is with this PCIII.

On a non-ABS bike, this install would probably take about 20 minutes. Took me about 2 hours.

Good luck, and as posted, Jamie at FM was very helpful. I would highly recommend.

Just my .02

Wow, I have abs, I looked at the directions online, did you pull the battery and reroute the harness? I really don't want to hack my new bike. What do you guys think of the way they sound?

If you will look at the REVISED instructions for the ABS bikes, you dont even have to pull the battery. The big connector plug goes in fron of the battery.

Believe me, it is a pain in the ***. It can be done, but its not easy by any means.

Buying from Fuel Moto insures mostly a plug-and-play install, but you should check the throttle position settings. Connect the PCIII to your computer, the 9V battery to the PCIII, and load the PC CC software. Turn on your bike's ignition but don't start the bike. Next, go to Power Commander Tools, then click on Set Throttle Position. A small window will pop up, and when it does click on Reset. Crank the throttle all the way to 100% (WOT) and hold until the large number on the right of the small window settles (a second or two), which should be somewhere around 28000, the number on the left at around 5200. That should do it. Go back to the original window and check TP, which should show 0%. Crank the throttle to WOT and it should show 100%, but if only 99% don't worry about it.

Why do you say not to start the bike.
I opened the PC software, connected to the PCIII and then started the bike.
Everything worked great, checked the throttle position and everything seemed to be perfect, no adjustments were needed.

Did I do something wrong?
