Does your bike have ABS? If it does, I would love to pics of how you crammed that thing in there w/the ABS module. Let alone where you got the extra cable length to get the stock plug that far over.
The FM instructions for bikes with ABS show to install the connection splice in front of the battery and that is a tight A** fit, even with modifying someplastic under there.
Thanks for your input though, its all helpful to someone.

No, but I was responding to Steve (sifularson), who has an '07 RG. I do understand the '08's have their fitment issues, and since I haven't installed a PCIII on one I couldn't comment. I'll be interested to see how this is resolved.
You can set the throttle position with no worries. When and if you need to update the firmware, that is when you should use the 9 volt battery and NOT the ignition switch to power up. I killed my PCIII that way and had to send it back to Dynojet for repairs. Took a week to get it back.
Been there, done that. I killed mine for about 20 min., but persistent retries to upgrade the firmware finally succeeded. For a while there I really did think I would have to return mine for service. Lesson learned, and fortunately no damange done.
Dislikes:
1. It's "tacked on" to the bike with wire ties
Wire-ties are all over your bike and they work well. Besides, nobody sees them anyway.
2. It's a damn hard fit under that side cover
Mine fits like a glove, never a problem.
3. The delayed starting issue. (do a search if you haven't heard about it.)
Simple fix: Start the bike before the "check engine" light goes out. IOW, start immediately after turning on the ignition and you will have no delays.
4. Canned maps
Work fine when created properly.
5. How do you know what you're really doing without a dyno tune???
All three of Fuel Moto's maps I've tried have worked very well. If it was optimized at Fuel Moto, it is optimized here too, or so close most would never notice the difference. I won't be spending $300 for a dyno tune to gain a few 10th's of a HP.
6. Decel popping and playing with numbers to eliminate it. It's all really just a guess.
Never had any popping here. Never knew what the issue was for others, although it appears to be a problem for some. This isn't unique to the PCIII, as the complaints come from those who've installed SERT and T'Max, too.
I agree with you on most of this although I still think there could be a better way to mount it. Fitting like a glove is not what I would call it.
I had to tweak the canned map to stop some occasional popping.
Have you looked at any of the advanced maps? They have separate tables for front and back cylinders. This is one of my concerns. I believe each cylinder needs to be tuned separately. What do you think?
Overall, I'm happy with the PCIII. I'm still going to try a SERT and a dyno tune to see how well my bike will run. This way, I will now EXACTLY what's going on without having to guess or tweak things.
Just got my package from Jamie and finished with the install. This was for an 08 Street Glide.. It took a little over an hour for the pipes and the power comander. Got back from a quick ride and it works great.. I got the Rush pipes with Jamie' custom baffles and they sound great.. not too loud but enough to be heard and still enjoy the radio. I did not reset the throttle position and it seems to work just fine so far.. I will hook up the laptop to it tonight and save the map..

Hello all,
This is my first post and as I just Installed the PCIII on my 08 Ultra last night, I thought I would chime in.
If you ordered it from Jamie and told him what your set-up is, he more than likely pre loaded the correct map for you. Its easy to tell because if he did, there will be a white sticker on the front of the package that says "pre loaded to your specs" and will have jamies initilas on it.
I am going to let you know right now, if you are installing this on an 08 with ABS, grab yourself a six pack and a qualude before you start because it is very frustrating. You are going to have to modify the ECM tray and bottom of the plastic wire harness that comes out from under the tank console. This is one tight A** fit but it can be done. Just take your time and dont get in a hurry.
Jamie preloaded mine and after install I didint have to make any adjustments at all. All throttle positions were right on the money.
It has been raining here all week so I have not had a chance to get out and really test this thing out, but it is supposed to be nice this weekend, so I will update on what the performance difference is with this PCIII.
On a non-ABS bike, this install would probably take about 20 minutes. Took me about 2 hours.
Good luck, and as posted, Jamie at FM was very helpful. I would highly recommend.
Just my .02
Where did you place the 2nd connector? I can't get the seat to fit back on with it, check it out....
are you saying that i can install the Power Com. 3 on my 08 ultra and not have to do any adjustments?? i read that they come setup, or mapped for a stock bike.
