Used to do a lot of tenting, especially when I was between wives The current wife has camped with me in Sturgis a couple times, but the last few years several couples get together and rent a cabin or house. When just traveling its a motel....too much wasted time unpacking and packing when camping, especially if we are going a long way.
tenting is OK as long as you don't want to hit the road early in the morning. rain dew orwhatever, if tenting ya can't hit the raod until everything dries out. If ya pack it up wet/damp it'll besoakin wet when it comes time to set up camp that night.
I'm OK ruffing it, but I also like hitting the road early. especially in the summer trying to get some miles in before the mid-daythunder storms kick in.I must be getting old....!
