Default New Bars ??? (Sorry!!!)

Ok guys I have a 06 EGS that I have turned into a Classic. I am 6'3" and really would like a more comfortable set of bars so my back will stop cramping. I don't want apes but would like a set of bars that have some rise to them. I don't know if I want the bars farther away or closer to me. I don't want to put new cables on so I am looking for a set that will work with all the stock cables. So, guys help out!! Thanks Bryan

I can't give you part numbers or anything like that, but I can assure you that you aren't going to get much closer to your body without changing cables. HD puts them on so that they are the proper length. If you move the "handles" closer to your body, the cables have to be longer. DO NOT TRY TO RIDE YOUR BIKE WITH CABLES THAT ARE TOO SHORT!!!!!!
Check over at J&P, some of those guys can probably tell you will be able to run with the stock cables. But, don't just take their advice either, if you buy something, test it several times with the bike sitting still. Even have the OL sit up on the bike and turn the bars from one side to the other while you are checking for the cables to be in a bind. You can't be too careful!!
Good Luck.

You can get a set of Khromewerks 300505 bars and reroute the clutch cable to outside the fairing and it will work. You can get by with the stock throttle and idle cables (it was too tight for my liking so I swapped them out) but it will work. Just have to remember that at turns the throttle may not snap right back on its own.

I was hoping to find a set that I didn't needto change out the cables. Maybe I should look otherwise. Wild1 bars look nice. I will look at the Khromewerks. Bryan
