I'm liking my stock windshield more & more! I mean I'm comfy at 95 mph withh it! I like the RG fairing too. I see alot of complaints about it but don't get it. Of course like I said before "I'm way old school!"
New to the forum, has anyone compared the 8" Klock werks shield to the HD 9.5". I'm 5'8" Stockseat, bars etc. running a HD 9.5" shield. I get a little more wind than I like but can hear the radio fine.I have an 8" Klock works on order and just wondering if I'm making a mistake?
I am looking at a windshield from www.calsci.comfor my RG. He is prototyping one that i will be testing next week. Check out his design specs here. http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/Fairing.html He uses vents to elimante back pressure created by the wind moving over and around the windshield
and makes the shield wider to push the air farther out. I'd be interested to hear what other riders think of his theory and method.
Craig Vetter used vents on his windjammer's windshields. They singlehandedly created the class that became GoldWing, TourGlide, etc. Only makes sense that someone's revisiting the idea. Others have electric shield adjustments (BMW LT) that not only allow an angle change, but also air venting at the bottom of shield. Even some maxi-scooters have that feature.
Well, I got the 12" KW windshield installed and took her out for a ride today after work today. I have to say that wind went right to the top of my head, from about forehead up. If I used a half helmet, I think it would be blowing all around. The protection is somewhat better than the HD 9" one that I took off. I can still hear the stock radio/speakers doing 80 on the superslab. I'm 5' 10", use the stock seat, WG bars and non stock mirrors, I have lowers but no tour pack. For my riding style, I think its gonna do just fine. And it looks awsome.

I've been following this, and the other threads regarding the variuos wind shields..... now you've all gotten me scared... I LOVE the rg....but at 70 the turblence causes me to see double.... so I just back off until I can see again... I like to hear my radio.... At 5' 8" I'm a short little guy.... but I have a long torso.... so after all this hoopla I've read.... i've ordered the 15" Cee Bailey....heck, I took the stock shield OFF to see if that helped ( it didn't) and this from a guy who's never even HAD a windshield before

Thanks for the link it looks like some really interesting stuff there but I didn't see anything about the pro-to type. Does he actually have a moc up ?
