I was doing a little work on my Friends nighters. And let him take my RG home. He also has a Ultra. When he brought my RG he said that he wish he had test rode a RG before he got the Ultra He has 10,000 miles on it He said he felt the differance between the bike just on a 40 mile round trip. Buy the way I think that the Klock werks looks great but it sure dose not work better than stock

These are motorcycles we are talking about here right? You should expect wind! If you don't want so much "buffeting" you should have bought a bat wing style bike.
Thanks for your insight and witty banter.

Not very helpful or accurate but you made your point, I guess.

Well Fellas, I finally got my 8 in. KW & installed it yesterday. It will definately be a summertime shield. Might as well be riding without a shield at all imho. Also noisy as hell. Wonder if theyd swap for a twelve incher? Looks badass though.

Well, I stand by the statement. The Road Glide by design has more open seating and allows for more of the elements getting to the rider. I tried a taller winshield cut to where I could see over on an uphill slope (15" I think) and it helped a bit but I hated the look. I found the "buffeting" reduces the taller the shield but windshield manufacturers I deal with don't recommend looking through them and I personally don't think it's very safe. I have a 12" KW shield on order and will give it a shot as my 12" HD is getting rough. I WILL give it a thorough test to be more "helpful" however I believe my input to be "accurate". I'm glad you enjoy the "witty banter". By the way, I'm 6' 3" with a 34" inseam.

I figured that.....messen with ya.

I took the measurments on the GT large.2" higher and 2" wider than stock. It should still allow me to sit up right and still look 2" above it. They also have a recurve at the top that's suppose to give it and extra 2". If that doesn't do the trick, as long as I don't take the blue protective film off, I can send it back for one that will work. Pretty decent customer service policy if you ask me.

I just wish the KW actually worked. It is the coolest looking windshield.

Anyone thinking about the Clearview might want to consider the HD mirror extentions. If you have the stock mirrors with the stock handle bars, youmight find the window hitting the mirrors. For me it's a 2 prong thing. The mirrors are useless to me without the extensions. I don't need to look at my biceps.

I just tried out the 8" dark smoke Klock Werks shield, looks great but as for wind protection I got more protection from the HD 9.5" shield. With the HD shield I could wear regular sunglasses, with the Klock Werks shield my eyes watered so bad I couldn't see if someone put their brakes on in front of me. With glasses with the foam lining that hug your face I could see OK. But youdo get more wind with this shield than with the HD9.5 shield. NowI really like the looks, and was wondering if anyone has tried the klock werks 8" and the 12" and can give a comparision between those two klock werks shields? I'd like to believe the 12" would work for me, but before I spend the money on another shield I'd like to know it will give me at least the protection of the HD 9.5 shield or better.
