Default Stolen Helmet On eBay...

Some people have *****....

Man Finds His Stolen Helmet on EBay

// HARRISBURG, Pa. — After Adam Grove had his custom motorcycle helmet stolen, he turned to eBay. Turns out, so did the thief. Grove went to the online auction site looking for a replacement, but he became suspicious when he noticed the seller lived near where the helmet was stolen. The thief had clipped the cable lock lashing the helmet to the handlebars when the bike was parked outside a Mechanicsburg restaurant in August 2006. Grove outbid another suitor, offering $139, and called police. Jurors last month convicted Christopher J. Blatnik, 23, of theft. He had claimed he had found the helmet while jogging at 1 a.m. However, Grove can't wear the helmet just yet — it's sitting in an evidence room until Blatnik's appeals end.

Guy will get his wrist slapped and probation if anything at all.

Expecting justice is to happen seems like asking for more than our society seems willing to provide.

Typical cop statement made to me when some crack addict broke into my house to steal my wife's jewelry box and a few pieces of electronics..."don't expect us to find the guy, just file a claim with your insurance".

I wouldn't say typical cop statement some police departments are so overwhelmed with crime it's hard to make arrest on the small stuff so to speak.

I had a helmet stolen once off my bike. I know, I was stupid to leave it hanging on my bars, but I've seen others do it, too. I had to "sneak" to a bike shop, luckily I knew where a close-by one was located and buy another. I was scared some LEO was drive by and see me. Anyway, now I keep another locked in my trunk. I guess you could say I still ain't learned my lesson.
