Default Thundermax-Fat Cat UUGH!!!!!

Any hints on where to run the 02 sensor wire on the front cylinder? The rear cylinder was no problem, but the front's a different story. My instructions are very UN-CLEAR on this and there isn't much wire to spare. Checked the web site but no real help there either. Also, is it typical for the 02 sensors on a new unit to be discolored like a well heated exhaust? Thanks for any hints, Kris

Are you putting this on a bike that did not have the 02 sensor originally?

Yes, it's an 06, but the exhaust does have the bung hole in it.

That is the one thing I did notice about the Thundermax.........the front cylinder wire was way too short to properly route it.

I installed the Thundermax and Fatcat on "pfd101's" '05 Ultra, and we ran into the same exact problem. I can't remember how we ended up running it, but it all worked out in the end. I believe we went up under the gas tank as much as we could, and it just barely reached.

I agree you might have to take the tank off to get a good job.

Thanks. That was the direction I was thinking of but only want to do this once. I'm trying to find a muffler shop open today as one of the bung plugs seems to be seized in it's hole. Thanks for your help.

Taking the tank off makes life alot easier, I know it a pain, but your scoot is going to run so much better, it's so worth it.

I ranthe 02sensor wire along the inside of the right frame rail (wire-tied it to the old sensor wire that I might need for a dealer visit..). Took my time, it laid in pretty tight and you can't see it unless you get down even with the front footboard and look for it. Didn't want to mess with the gas tank unless I had to, but my wires were more than long enough. Wonder if they've changed the lengths, got mine last June?

Thanks, BJ. But my wires aren't nearly long enough to go that route. Looks like I'll need to take off the tank.
