Re-Packing Rush Baffles???

the loose fiberglass packing will burn out in a short time. there is a great alternative though. the woven 10 oz. stuff that you can find at most paint and body supply houses is sold by either the yard or foot, and if you wrap as much as you can fit around your baffle, and make sure the fiberglass cloth, not mat, is secured with steel mechanics wire before reinstalling the baffle, you'll surely have no more problems with it burning out. this works, improves the low end torque feeling, and also removes the sharp bark of a muffler with burned out packing. makes them sound mellow again as they did when new, but you'll not have problems with them again. this is an old tip that still works. dammit, now i remember i gotta pack my rineharts that i've put 10k miles on. oh well, i needed something to do anyway.

sorry for the second post, but that's the 10 oz. fiberglass woven cloth that you would wrap as much as you can around the baffle before tying it with wire before installing the baffle back in the muffler. just to clarify. hope this tip helps someone.
