I removed the baffles from my Rush 1.75 mufflers. I thought they were getting a little loud. I want to re-pack the baffles, but what materials and where can I buy the stuff I need to re-pack them?? Any instructions would be helpful!
Rush sells a mat kit. You can contact them directly if you want to or I can help you out. Shoot me an e-mail and I'll call them. It's art@steelcityharley.com
You can also pick up kits at off-road bike shops locally that will come close to perfect but if you want original, it's available.
Mine were almost completly gone after a month. I got them from the dealer so they ordered more packing. When I went to repack it the material they gave me was shorter than the baffle. I was told that most dirt bike shops would have better material.
I used the fiberglass kit from here on my V&H Classics. http://www.mooseoffroad.com/catalog....tegory_id=1194
I would probably go with the stainless kit if I have to do it again.
As mentioned , I picked one up at a honda dealer that was local.
Fuel Moto is using Silent Sport packing on their new Rush baffle setup , that's suppose to be the best
packing out there.

Interesting to know. I am getting ready to order 1.75 baffles and RUSH slip ons.....Do they get real loud, quick!?!? I hope not. That is why I am buying the 1.75's.........I know you can get replacement baffles but I think they run about $60-$69.
I wonder if you could get that baffle packing (from Germany) Jamie from Fuel Moto uses on his Rush motification kits? Or you could just order new baffles with the German manufactured packing on them.
I've had the Rush mufflers on for one year, and they seemed to get louder than I liked.I was suprised that once I got them out, the packing was not too bad. When I'm cruising I just like to be able to sit back and listen to the radio. So I thought maybe I'll try some new packing to quiet them a tad.
Just repacked my v&h classics with the silent sport packing that I ordered for fuel moto. I had used fine steel wool which worked pretty well. The new stuff is better but my pipes are still loud.2" baffles and true duels+ big cam and 10.1= loud.
