every now and again, my local hd shop will run a special for free labor if you buy the tire from them. so that runs around 150. but if you need a tire replaced, and they aren't running that special, then you gotta do what you gotta do.

I just would have paid about 10$ more than you for the tire deal except I got to minus$100 from total bill with the IDS & "Elbow Grease"done at the same time. Seems about average.

Sounds normal.
Found an indy shop that will install a Michelin Commander for $150-rear and $145-front mounted and balanced). I'll be leaning toward that. Too bad Michelins aren't avail. in white wall (so I'm told) but maybe that's a good thing as keeping the white clean can be a pita.

Sounds about right for a dealer purchase/install.
I prefer to remove the wheel and take to a cycle accessory store. It cost me about $150.

1 hour labor for rear tire, 1/2 hour for front. So...about $65.00 labor for rear tire plus cost of tire.

1/2 hr labor per tire to mount and balance if you pull the wheels and bring them in on here on LI. So $45 plus cost of tire, per wheel.

Glad I ride mostly in centeralTexas. Couldn`t or wouldn`t stand those prices. For several years the H-Ddealer I trade with mounts tire for free if ya buy it there. Usually $150.00-$165.00 OTD.

HD oughta be doin' tire mounts free...or at least a minimal charge, since we all usually buy at the stealer anyway....80 bucks a wheel is BS! (And chances are, it ain't no MMI grad doing those tire mounts...prolly a ****/washbay boy or Jeep trainee!)
