Zumo 550s Dying?
Got mine last spring. It did die, and Garmin sent me a new battery, and has not had any problems since. I used it for a 5000 mile trip out west, plus have used it for most of my longer weekend rides. Garmin was very helpful. Even sent me an extra security screw, and the screw driver for it, because I mentioned that I thought, if I forgot to keep it tight, it could fly out ofthe bracket. They even gave me some good roads to ride on my vacation, since I was going to be near their area.
I've used it on my bike and in my work truck >>> 25, 350 + miles total so far.
The only problem that I had was the cycle mount had a charging failure.
The unit would charge in the suction cup mount, but would not in the cycle mount.
I contacted customer service via phone and they sent me a brand new mount.
I received it in 3 days!
Now thats service.
I have owned and will continue to buy Garmin products.
This customer service is unheard of in todays world.
The unit is very accurate and easy to use.
Its withstood pouring rain and many miles with many smiles.
Buy one and you wont regret it.
I drag mine from the bike to the car and to the truck back to the bike, not to mention all the hours I have had it hooked up to the computer for setting up routes andupdates and so on.
Igot it late last June and it's been nearly nonstop use.
The only complant I have is, "me". All this high tech stuff is staying just ahead of my knowledge and understanding, and at times it's very frustrating.
chappy
Moral of story,,, those units can get you where you want to go,,, especially to see your HDF friends!!!!

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
I've had garmin units on my bass boat. Garmin has about the best GPS units around and about the easiest to operate. Their customer service is great.
If you are scared buy a extended contract on the unit.
