Change of Mufflers\Slip-ons or complete exhaust system
Install Air Kit
Install fuel management system
What is does? will increase the over all performance of your PUTT & give it back the Harley-Davidson SOUND - Help in reducing of heat build-up due the the factory settings by increasing the fuel flow...
Cost... Depending on what you install normally from $700.00 - $1100.00 Avg cost...
Actually the stage one kit includes a high flow air cleaner ($140 retail) allowing more air into your system and a download (ECM update) to your bikes computer (can cost 100 - 150 depending on dealer)...the download increases your high end rev and torq.
Adding slipon"performance" mufflers or full pipe/muffler changes is optional. ($300 - $1000)...also changes the "sound" of the bike...often louder then the stock pipes.
Slip-ons or full pipe/muffler changes are not required but many prefer to do it at the same time.
Too bad the search function is on vacation. There was a link in another thread that took you to an article that gave you a very detailed description of stages 1 through 4.
if you install the pipes and air cleaner yourself, you could skip the useless stage one and buy a pc111 which you will probably end up doing anyway. stage 1 did nothing for the heat problem and it has horrible deceloration pop.
