Since the search don't work can somebody tell me the different kinds of exhaust gaskets there are and which ones work the best. Harleys are mesh wire but aren't there some that are made of brass?
With your V&H exhuast the stock gaskets are the best. Just make sure to run the nuts down even and torque them to 120In Lbs. The only time you want to use the SE gaskets is on pipes like Rinehart's that have a square edge on the flange. I used the SE's on my Road Rage (that has a sqaure edge) and I had exh leaks on both cyliders. Went back to stock, no leak.

Hi Rick
Just installed the copper rings. Worked great tight fit though. Placed in freezer overnight then used a large socket to tap into exhaust bore. Just a lite tap not hard enough to damage gasket. Torqued per manuel top front nut 20 inch pounds then bottom nut to 80 inch pounds. Back to top nut at 80 inch pounds and recheck. Then back cylinder bottom nut to 20 inch pounds and top nut to 80 inch pounds then bottom nut to 80 inch pounds and recheck. No leaks. Eighty inch pounds does not sound like much but it is enough to crush the gaskets. You can over tighten and that can cause leakage too. I sure would not want to break a stud in the head. I purchased my gaskets on ebay from chopperspart great outfit. I think about seven dollars and some change delivered. Hope this helps. Much better than stock.
Thanks everyone, I can't get the copper gaskets hear before we start the build this weekend, so I will put stock ones in but I could change later, besides I am looking at the Martin Brothers 2in1 Bag Daddy.
