IPOD for me...alot easier to find songs than having to go through 130 songs when i am looking for 1 song i want to hear at that exact moment...plus if i am in a certain mood i can chose to listen to 1 certain artist..i guess what i am saying is ipod = choices to me.
You seem to imply that you'd have to leaf thru 130 songs to find the one you're looking for on the Zumo. That's not the facts of the matter. With a touch on the screen you can choose toview a list by "Album Name", "Artist", "Genre" or a list of all songs in alphabetical order and it's on a 3" screen. It's much easier than fumbling with that little thumb control thingy andfocusing on the 1" screen on an I-Pod.

Mychoicefor listening on the bike is the Zumo.
I was thinking more in line with burning mp3's to a cd not on a sd card in the Zumo.

I use the Itouch for music and the Zumo550 for navigation. Take'em both with me when I leave the bike. I like having the tunes on the Itouch because I don't use the Zumo when I'm local.

A work on Music devices, some Ipods and other devices have a disc drive for storage (not nano or Itouch). I used a big Dell and then an Ipod for a few years and it was prone to lock up due to vibration.

I misunderstood.
You're exactly right. CDs are not the way to organize your music. I wonder how many more years they'll even exist. Remember 8 track tapes? Then cassett tapes? 5-1/4" computer discs? 3-1/2" computer discs (on their way out). CDs won't befar behind.

If I didn't have a Zumo would I buy one for MP3 capability? Absolutely not.

If I already have a Zumo as he does would I mount an I-Pod on the bike? Absolutely not. It takes the same effort to place either in a mount and remove it so why clutter things up with another bracket on the bars. Then again, you can't listen to the Zumo when it's not in the cradle so if you're headed somewhere that you'll want to listen to tunes I'd throw the I-Pod in my pocket.

I have both the Zumo and the Itouch Ipod, I prefer the ipod over the zumo, have the Zumo on the left and the Ipod on the right just in front of the Aux plug on the radio, when I am not listening to the XM factory radio, the Ipod is on....love to hear tunes when I ride, relaxes me when I am looking at the great scenery on long rides..

i just burn all my mp3s on a cd and put it in the radio, if you burn it in mp3 format you can fit over 100 songs on a single cd

3.5mmjack(both ends),stereo patch cord to the AUX on the radio, no modulator needed, same as the I-Pod. If you're going to mount Zumo on the left and run the cord thru the fairing you'll need a 6' cord.

This fellow HDforum gilgos440rt@bellsouth.net. He makes the same looking nano holder and it looks good for only 75.00> I got one and it works great!

The reason I got the Zumo 550 instead of all other GPS unit is that it does more. Why carry the I-pod when all it does is play music. The Zumo does more than that. It will play audio books as well.
