I don't think that anyone would throw an Ipod or a Zumo away if he owned one or the other.
On the same token, why buy an Ipod if you have a Zumo 550 already.
When it comes to "Just the Tunes" either will work fine.
But, I still try to Simplify Simplify Simplify!!!
That's why I have the Zumo 550
The Zumo doesanything the Ipod will doand then some!
At the same time the Zumo doesn't paint you into a corner with limitations.

The Zumo works good with gloves. I ware tight and also thinly insulated gloves as well as electric heated gloves when needed. They all work good. If I am going to do several touch screan commands I pull over. Personally, I think it's quicker and safer.

Okay so if I go with the Zumo only where do I hook the 3.5mm jack up on the zumo? I have the 450 and don't see a hole for it. There are two holes on the cradle, but the one labeled audio out looks bigger than 3.5, the mic hole looks to be about the same size.

I have the Ipod Nano. play lists right now and over 1K of songs. 8gb unit. I purchased the Ipod Interface cable for my Clarion Stereo. It alows me to hide the nano in my windshield pouch and select songs using the stereo.
I have had a couple of diffrent MP3 Players and honestly the Ipod (even for the price) has been the best.
