Ride the bike for a while longer before you do this. I think you might find that the TP is something you'd rather have on all the time. Just comes in real handy. I know it looks cooler without the TP. I was considering doing this when I first got my bike, but I'm over it now. Good for taking home pies from Marie Callendar. By the way, $5.99 pie sale is on now

Already purchased all the parts when I bought the bike. It will really only be off for local rides. I did it with my Deluxe too....most of the time the pak was on but now and again I really liked taking it off.

We coiled all the cables up and put them in a zip lock bag and zip tied them together.
There are a few nooks under the seat they will fit into.
The only cable we cut was the antenna cable as we installed a in faring antenna for if we decide to use the radio.
Mostly we use Sirius Sat Radio or Ipod

we can send some photos if you like, we live out in the Palm Springs area

BR... I didn't clip the wires by the seat..I purchased the Male/female connectors and PINS M/F from my dealer and extended the Tourpac Light wires the plugsare under the lining on the AM/FM radio antenna side of the tourpac. I extended this connection so it would be outside the tour pac behind the rider back rest 'Flap"

The AM/Fm antenna extension and bracket came with the tourpac extension kit I purchased. The bracket bolts on the bike on the side under neath the Tourpac. A quick disconnect here and screw on a Short antenna from autozone (10-13 dollars).

As far as the cb goes I do not use the CB...but I did do this .....under the tourpac liner you will see the loading coil and attached to this coil is a solder connection (centerwire of the coax going to the CB) I removed this and the 'Ground (braided) side" and replaced this with a longer piece (by from radio shack RG58U) and added a new connector to this and to the end coming from the CB so I can unplug the CB at the same location (behind the riders back rest "Flap".

As far as the speakers go pull out the cable from the Pods and you will find a connector on each unplug and as stated before tuck this (purchase the seat Thumb Screw) all under the seat.

As far as the COMM goes I rerouted this (removed it from the speaker Pod) under the seat and up thru the backrest of the driver so it is located just above the seat and MUCH easier to connect/Disconnect.

I wanted the cables all to be somewhat longer as I moved the tourpac back about 2 inches for better rider comfort and this allows this to be done.

All my connections are sealed and behind the riders/Backrest "Flap" This takes about less then 10 minutes to do along with the removal of the two lowers. I then add a rider backrest (sissybar) and luggage rack to finish it off.

Wished I could post a PIC has been alot of snow so I haven't taken the time to do so will hopefully when I get back.........in vegas now..........renting a RKC this week to take a trip in the warm weather.....Why are people wearing coats/jackets here????? its 68 degrees??????????

If you can find a pic or see abike that this has been done to it will make the "OPERATION" go much easier. I cussed those damned instructions for several hours and finially had my brother-in-law drive by so I could look as his and after doing so I was complete in less than couple hours (not including the wiring).

Good luck it will be worth it...................Marty.

Hubby got started with making my tour pak detachable. then he had a whole bunch of questions.....so here I am.

First question: Is there anyone local to me that migt be able to let ussee the setup?Maybe just some Decent pictures?
(We can drop by if it's raining or you can come here...PM me.)

The realquestions...

1. How close to the seat did you clip the wires?
2. What did you do with theComm connection?
3. We are going to put the antenna on each side...anyone else do it? Where did you get the braket?

Back of the bike looks soo bare.....
