Anyone have any info or thoughts on HCI-105 or HCI-100 carbon fiber helmets, looking at these and also carbonfiberhelmets.com I have seen here. But have not read anything on the HCI's.
Not sure which model I have but it is the HCI cf 1/2 helmet.
I like it. It is fairly low profile and looks good in my opinion.
Keep in mind that it is not truly a cf helmet. It is a layer of cf
over fiberglass.
I have one from www.carbonfiberhelmets.com and really like it. I have about 6,000 miles riding with it. At about 25 ounces, you really can't feel it and they look pretty good for a 1/2 helmet. They are a little pricy and it takes time to get one, but worth it to me. And they are carbon fiber/kevlar, not a fake covering.
I tried on the HCI-105 polo at my dealer, very light, I didnt realize they were just CF coated. Most likley will order from carbonfiberhelmet.com, lots of good reviews, might go with the polo style. Bought a real cheap helmet, only really use it in helmet states, last year I had to trim some liner on the side of the road, gave me a bad headace. Get what you pay for, hoping to find one that fits well and doesnt sit way up on my head.
Word of advise on helmets from carbonfiberhelmets .com; inspect the helmet very careful. The craftmanship leaves a bit to be desired, specially fro the price.
Dont ask me how I know!!!!!!!!
I have2 ofthe HD carbon fiber half helmets. Looks cool in the sun light! Seems like I remember you can replace the liner too...Also have an Arai Profile but find myself using the half helmet unless it is below 35 degrees.
A good friend just got the CF 1/2 helmet from carbonfiberhelmets and is very pleased with it--it's extremely light--I don't care for 1/2 helmets, personally, but he's pleased with his.
