Default How far do you go.......Paint/Powdercoat

Well, my brain has been spinning non-stop for months trying to decide what to do with body mods and paint. My latest thought that is keeping me awake at night would require powdercoating my wheels and probably some other chrome bits black. Problem is my bike is heavily chromed $$$$. Where does the powdercoating stop? If I powdercoated the wheels and front forks......then I would probably want to powder coat the crash bar....the handle bars.....the support tube, strut covers, license plate frame, turn light housings, ......see what I am saying?????? How far do you have to go once you start to get the look right? Is it everything.....exhaust, motor....? Is it only the big pieces and then does it look Ok to leave other parts chromed? I know in the end it is personal choice but wanted opinions from some of you that have gone there and done that.

Phil, I have an idea what your opinion would be........all black and build a bigger, I mean BIGGER motor!!

I need a doggy downer.......

LOL...Good one. Nope, not black on black. It would be Titanium with a black tribal stripe and black powdercoated bits and pieces. Just an idea. I have no less than 1,000,000 ideas racing around inside my head....and this is just one. You know the little micro marring in the black paint that drives both of us PHuc*in' crazy???? The platinum would solve that problem that is why I was thinking about it. I will have to paint no matter what.

So, how far do you go?????

Confused,
RJ

I did the same thing... Powder coated everything BLACK except the motor, exhaust, and wheels. It really sets the bike apart from the others when parked in a group of Harleys. I love the look and say go for it!

I found a cure for the micro marring on my bike. Forgot to PM you. No kidding.

Two sets of tins. One to ride with and one to stare at...................[sm=icon_rofl.gif]

Is this considered OCD?

Darrin,
Don't think I have not considered that option!!! And yes, I am sure it is OCD on some level!!

Phil,
Just rememebr how this works...when you are ready to go bigger (is that even possible) I am like your little brother....I take hand me downs!!!!

Thanks for the compliments but I am stretching my bags and changing the dash panel so I will need to paint some if not all. It is amazing how little difference there is $$$$$ between painting a few pieces and the whole bike. So this is my chance to do something. I am not intersted in a show bike because I ride so it has to be practical as well as......ah, BS, it has to be cool as hell!!!
