Default Movie scene

I can visualize the scene; there you are, alone in the garage with parts all over the floor. As you stare at the parts, the pile seems to grow as fear begins to creep into you mind. Knowing you have bitten off more than you can chew, you brake out in a cold sweat as the fear grows and grows. Now, sitting there alone, somehow you must put the parts back together...but how, why did I do this??. The thought occurs to you, what if I am unable to do this, what will I do? I know, I’ll call my independent mechanic, have him come over and fix this mess. No, better yet, call the police and say some idiot took off my controls and left them here on the floor, that way insurance will pay for the cost to have it fixed. Just then, the wife peeks her head out the side door and stares at you while you have a sheepish grin on your face. You state, “No problem, I can handle this” as she shakes her head in doubt you have the ability to do anything other than take out the garbage. In the end, you gather up all the courage you can muster and tackle the job. Eight hours later, two six packs, a four packs of smokes, the job is completed. It all works…no problem. Now, you feel smart…very smart. All the while the little voice in the back of your mind is saying, “Don’t ever do that again”.

Pretty much the way it went..Right!!!!

You'll getter back together. Just hope you don't have any left over parts when it's back together.

One thing I've learned through the years is if I'm doing something for the first time, I take pictures as I go. That way I can refer to them when needed.

Just tell yourself, "I am the mechanic. I can do this. It will be ok."

Seriously, your not supposed to have parts left over after a project????? I have been doing it wrong for the last 35 years!!! I have a whole drawer full of "unnecessary" parts!!

I did mine about a month ago.I had to walk away and come back the next day but i got it done.Just take your time.I slit the sheathing around the wires on the front brake side, it seam to give me alittle more play to move them around.

I went to my local dealer today and wanted to see if they could knock that out as they did my rear brake recall.......they quoted me 3 HOURS (@ $88/ hr!) to do the chrome switch housings!

I do believe I will figure this one out and do it myself!!!

Can it really be as tedious as running the wires thru aftermarket bars when you have cc ans stereo controls and putting them back thru the sockets?
