Chrome switch housing install...OH CRAP it aint easy!
OK guys and gals...Did you ever think hey I bought the service manual, I have a really cool set of tools, a nice garage, damn I must be a mechanic??? Well I did! So there I was taking apart the switch housing and throttle assembly on my streetglide, careful to do it the way the good book says, sure that was the easy part...Now I am sitting in my garage trying to put 10 pounds of crap in a 5 pound bag. I guess what I am looking for is some support, maybe telling me "It'll be OK little buddy you can put it back together". So word to the wise if your going to do this make sure you know what your doing, cause it aint as simple as you would think it is! .

Sure as hell hope so, I have a few rides coming up fast, one real important with PGR. Thanks for the support guys... Dawg where in Vermont you from? I used to live just a few miles from the NY/Vermont border.

Welcome to the club! I did mine abaout a year ago and I too thought it would be a simple 30 minute swap. Boy was I wrong. Wound up breaking my neutral switch out of frustration. Hours later, a bunch of cursing, a new neutral switch, everything was back together. The hardest part was making sure that you didn't pinch any wires during the re-assembly. But dam it looks good!!!
Would I do it again?....Sure, but I love to torture myself!
Would I recommend someone do it themselves?....Not unless you are highly skilled working with small parts in even smaller spaces, and have a great deal of patience!

It can be the pitts alright, but the job is doable, watch the little brass ferrules on the throttle cables and be careful with the break light switch. Just be glad that you are not changing out the master cylinder and the brake caliper. Trying to bleed the air out of the hydraulic system can sometimes generate plenty of anxiety too. I got the switch covers on with out too much hassle but bleeding the brakes sure enough took more that a few tries.
