RE: Chrome switch housing install...OH CRAP it aint easy!
I was going to switch to chrome until I tried to take thestock ones apart. Right from the start I broke the Volume switch (pulled the thing apart) $60 buck to replace. I fixed the switch and put it back together, which was a chore to.

I did chrome switchs instock housings when I put wide-glide mini-apes on my RK. Took about an hour for the bars and about two hoursfor the plastic caps. Thought I was going to break one every time I did each of them - both taking off the old one and putting on the new. I guess they're pretty tough though.

Update on the chrome switch housing...Cuts to fat little fingers 50 cents in bandaids, Broken switches 15 dollars, ability to do it yourself...priceless! What it will cost me to have the dealer come pick up my scoot and fix the crap that I broke probably about $200.00. Thats right F it all I am having the dealer do it.
Remember just becuase you have a garage and a shiney set of tools doesnt mean you know what the hell you are doing.

Ok, here you go, I took a pic for everyone of the inside of the switch housing. Now all you have to do it move the white one over just a hair...don't move the red one!
I was thinking about doing these housings also. You all have scared me off. Seems like some guys get lucky (nothing personal to those who did it) and it goes pretty smooth right away. Seems to be a lot of good wrenches on here that stayed away from this one.

You think thats hard, mine was a police bike that had some extra wiring to do, it still wasnt as bad as putting those damn chrome buttons on, but it sure looks good now
RE: Chrome switch housing install...OH CRAP it aint easy!
I personally decided not to do ithis one. I did the rocker box gaskets on my 99 Heritage a few years ago so I am mechanically inclined, but didn't have the time last fall to do this one. Took the 06 classic to the stealership for a 10,000 mile service and had them add the Kury Iso grips and chome switch housing, but not he switches themselves. Hope it looks good this spring when I pick her up. I went with the crome housing and black switches tomatch the look of the kury iso grips.

Scooter thats the same idea I had...Great minds you know! Well the dealer came out to the house yesterday and picked up my scooter and the box of parts to get the install done. I will let you all know how it comes out. Thanks again to all fpr your input and support. I am sure my dealer is laughing all the way to the bank on this one. Glad to put his kids through school before mine.
