Thanks for your input guys! Still not sure exactly what I am going to do. I would be happy with just a MP3 player hooked to a set of faring speakers, but have not found that option yet either. Bryan
Not waterproof, but you could always get the marine cover for the stereo, it's a flip up smoked face that keeps water from the stereo, all of the aftermarket fairing companys use them. If you want to see what I'm talking about http://www.deadcentercycles.com/audio.aspx scroll down a little and you'll see a picture. Any car audio retailer should stock or be able too order this Item for you. here is a link to crutchfield marine cover http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...M1&tp=3195
Go ride a bike without thumb controls!!! I thought the same thing, but I was wrong! With different speeds your volume adjustment always changing. I have a older bikes radio so my Automatic Volume Control don't work and you won't have that option either. I can adjust quickly with thumb controls. Some songs are louder than others. Imagine pulling up beside a church bus full of kids at a stop light while playing "Shout at the Devil " on a hill and trying to reach up and turn down the radio, lol!
