Hello Everyone! been lurking and trying to educate myself on the stereo upgrade threads. I got my Ultra Classic scattered all over the garage, trying to put in my new tunes.
So far i have the a set of Polk Audio 5 1/4 speakers mounted in both the front fairing and the tour pack. A pair of infinity 6x9 in the saddlebags mounted facing the rear wheel, sure hated to cut the hole for the speakers but its done now. Sony head unit installed with the biketronics setup, done. I got a pair of infinity 6.5 speakers to mount were the glove boxes are in the lower fairings. Not sure how to get a clean look with this size speaker but using a 5 1/4 speaker, they were a little small so either way, got to make something to fit. Any ideas?
Now here is the question, where to put the amp? I have a pioneer class FD 4 channel amp, that I read about here when Glideman first started his stereo project. The amp will fit in the saddlebag standing upright or sideways if suspended. i can't really figure out a mount to secure it well enough that it want shake loose.
any thought on wiring the amp up? my plans where to run the 5 1/4 polks of the sony head unit and run the 6x9's and 6.5 lower fairing speaker on the amp.
Thanks
Tinman
Do a search as there is a member doing a kick a$$ install on his bike. I'd pick his brain a little as it sure looks like he knows just a little about stereo equipment.
