Default Help Is This A Misprint?

Didn't realize I was on the General Chat Board; but will post here as well. On page 2-88 of the Service Manual states to "tighten the lower shock bolt to 30 - 45 ft lbs. Tighten the top shock bolts to 33 - 35 ft lbs." This can't be right! Any of you know what the torque setting should be? Their settings are barely tight. Gotta believe that it is a misprint.

Should let you know this is for an 07 Ultra. Thanks John

Just did mine. It's right, and it's plenty tight.

OK, thanks guys. I must have the torque wrench set wrong. It's a new Sears and the example is in the boxlid andis too small to read.

I not trying to be a smart ***. Make sure you bought one in

foot pounds, not inch pounds. It will make a big difference.

35 ft. lbs. is good and tight----50 would probably stress the threads or get close to it.

If using inch pound torque wrench, remember 35 ft lbs is 35 * 12 = 420 inch lbs (most likely an inch pound wrench won't go that high). Yep, need both foot and inch pound torque wrenches.

Remember too. If you are using a 1/2 inch drive foot pound torque wrench, they are generaly pretty long. It doesnt take much force to put 35 pounds of torque on a bolt.
