this was a replacement install as shown by the pics. i put the HD covers on when i first bought the bike, but after switching to true duals, it wasn't as attractive any more (due to the hole left in the cover from the split rear head pipe. spent some time yesterday wrenching and swapped it out with the kuryakyn tranmission shroud for true duals, rear cylinder cover, and the starter solenoid cover. the transmission covers look nice and was essentially a fix for what i had. the solenoid cover was new and helped clean up the mess around the starter. i have those funky colored underneath lights so it helps for that area to look better. anyone considering these should probably do all of it at once, because with that many pieces and a couple of overlapping instructions makes for a pretty good oragomy puzzle..lol
That made a big difference in the appearance. A friend did true duals and had the same problem once that pipe was gone. He did about the same thing you did to spruce it up.
